oh well

I've taken a couple of days to reflect on the Derby and here are my thoughts...

WOW! Big Brown is one hell of a horse and will surely be a contender at Pimlico and Belmont. I didn't think that he could pull off a victory with so few starts...let alone such an impressive one. Coming out of the 20 slot and blowing away the filed like he did...wow. I can't wait for the Preakness to see what he can do there.

As for my lone bet...that's why they are called longshots! All I can say is that at least my man Adriano didn't come in last.

Finally...best wishes to all those involved with Eight Belles. She was an impressive filly and ran a great race. She was another one that fully surprised me and it is a real loss to the racing world that she will not be able to compete in the coming races. A sad reminder of just how fragile life is...
